Lakeside Residents and Greek Life …. Meet Julie Ainsley!

Endeavored to create an extraordinary experience for every Ferrum student, the Office of Student Life - which was formerly known as Residence Hall Educators - recently made a new hire of two coordinators. One new member is Julie Ainsley, who started her position as the coordinator of Residence Life (on Lakeside) and Fraternity and Sorority Life on Oct.1, 2020.

Ferrum’s Famous Feline: Elgie, The Library Cat

Every now and then, a little gray cat is spotted around the Stanley Library at Ferrum College. His name is Elgie and he was first spotted in 2016 by Library Attendant (Evening Services) Danny Adams.

RN to BSN Program Arrives at Ferrum College

      Ferrum College recently announced the addition of a pre-license Bachelor of Science in Nursing program that will be launching in January 2021. This pre-licensure BSN program will prepare nursing students for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN). It is offered completely online with a customized plan allowing students to obtain their BSN in a little over 18 months.

A Worldwide Travel Back to Home

Bob Pohlad has traveled all around the world and experienced the beauty of every place he visited. He loves traveling and learning new perspectives from each place he visits, even if he has already traveled there before. Eventually, Ferrum College is where he decided to return to see the world through a different lens.

Running the Challenges Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim: Megan St. Peters and her Master’s Program in Psychology

Whether it be training for marathons or researching the brain, Dr. Megan St. Peters has enjoyed challenging herself. When turning 40 years old next year, St. Peters hopes she would be able to do the Rim-to-Rim hike at the Grand Canyon. 

“That’s 40 miles, so 40 miles for my 40th,” St. Peters said.

 

St. Peters explained this after just completing another challenge that glows in her academic career at Ferrum this year.

Student Personal Trainer Helps Student-Athletes Succeed at Ferrum College

Student personal trainers at Ferrum College work one-on-one with student-athletes on specific areas that coaches do not get the opportunity to help with.
