After a year of fighting against the COVID, adjusting to online and hybrid classes, and dealing with other day-to-day stressors, Ferrum College students were surprised with a student appreciation week from Mar. 29 to April 1 hosted by the Office of Student Life and Engagement.

Throughout the week, students were able to participate in a variety of activities including tie-dye mask making, dunking a residence life staff member, hot dogs and yard games, glowing movie night, an Easter raffle, hammocking, a paint night, and yoga. Each activity was free to participate in.
Depending on the activity, the first few students at the event were able to get additional items for free. During hot dogs on the Quad, the first 150 students were able to have a free hotdog meal instead of using a meal swipe. During the glowing movie night, the first 20 students were given a free blanket and candy. For the Easter raffle, Khari Carson, Abigail McGovern, and Andrew Wring were the winners.

In addition to these activities, students were also encouraged to dress for the theme of the day in order to be entered in a raffle to win a prize. The different themes were tie-dye, disney, class colors, and Ferrum attire.
The student appreciation week finished on April 1. Students were also treated with a good Friday on April 2 with all courses being cancelled to kick off the Easter weekend.
