Hooray for Class of 2021: Seniors Geared Up for Graduation with Senior Salute

By Mary Stoudt

While it was heavily raining outside, members of the class of 2021 were gathered inside the Panther’s Den on Mar. 31, 2021, making preparations for their upcoming graduation. All seniors were invited to attend Senior Salute to pick up their cap and gown and finalize information for their diploma.

Senior Jeffery Blackwell was one of the many seniors who picked up their Senior Salute package.

“Picking up my cap and gown makes it feel real that I’m graduating in three weeks. Having friends that were seniors, I got to see them have this same experience; but it’s completely different to go through it yourself,” Blackwell said.

Each senior received a class of 2021 bag that included their cap and gown, along with their stole, goodie bag, graduation information booklet, and a coupon to be used at the campus bookstore. Additionally, seniors were able to purchase a variety of alumni items at the event.

After picking up all of their items, seniors were then invited to take a picture using Ferrum’s photo station and props.

Seniors will get the chance to put on their cap and gown at 9 a.m. on April 24 for the annual senior class photo, which will take place at Adams Stadium this year.
