“Braden, Guy, Elijah, and I always work in the practice room and it was nice to see all of our hard work pay off,” Englman said.
Women’s Wrestling began this winter season on Jan. 15, in a match against Liberty University. The forfeit win was picked up by Ferrum sophomore Destiny Benjamin, which was followed by a pair of exhibition pins. At the end the Panthers won with a score of 21-13.
“Our season opener against Liberty University went very well in my opinion because all the hard work we’ve been putting in really projected itself out on the mat,” Benjamin said.
“We went out there, scored some points and applied our pressure. It showed that we can hang in with the best of the best and that we’re not pushovers,” Benjamin said.
The Emmanuel Women’s Invitational was cancelled due to COVID-19. Senior night was currently postponed. As of now, the next match for the Panthers will be hosted at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC on Feb. 6.
Men’s Wrestling will have their next match at Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA on Jan. 31, 2021.
